A/W 2012: Office fashion and winter workwear

Arrow down blue

Is the office going to decide to be hot today, or is it going to be cold? What mood is the air conditioning unit in? We workers know that the temperature inside the office can bear absolutely NO resemblance to what the weather is doing outside. There is a complete disregard for seasonality; you could come in your thickest spangly jumper in December, and be looking like you've done a Bikram yoga session by elevensies. Similarly, you could turn up to work in your favourite crepe de chine Chloe blouse in the middle of August, and by noon find yourself cowering under the electric hand dryer. Dyson give us warmth! We've all been there. What we (yes, men AND women) ultimately end up doing, is wearing the same (or at least very similar) clothes to work every day. Ah...the classic grey-black-white-navy shirt/blouse exchange. We all fall into the abyss of orthodoxy from time to time. I can't confirm that all employees at Flexioffices are what you'd describe as 'fashionistas'. Naturally some of us are.  However, office fashion and tailoring requires a degree of expertise, so we thought we'd call in a few reinforcements who know their Bon Marche from their elbow - some of our favourite fashion bloggers. Allow me to introduce Peony Lim, Lydia from Fashion Influx, and Lyzi from Little Being Little. Ignore their advice about what to wear this autumn/winter at work at your peril. Here's a few work-friendly fashion solutions which can invigorate your office wardrobe this winter. Let us know your favourites in the comments section below.

Lynzi from Little Being Littlehttp://littlebeinglittle.blogspot.co.uk/ A big trend that I am obsessing over at the moment and that could be translated into work wear is collar embellishment. Whether it's a studded collar, a lacy peter pan collar or collar clips, it's an easy but effective way of updating your usual office attire. Studded collars can add that extra touch of embellishment

Peony Lim http://peonylim.blogspot.co.uk/2011/06/working-girl.html Peony very kindly pointed us in the direction of her post which if you click on the link above, you'll see. Monochrome is always a stalwart of the office wardrobe, but here she has gone for clean lines coupled with a cinched in waist and palazzo-like pants. It's tailored yet far from boring. Tailored perfection Monochrome delight

Lydia from Fashion Influxhttp://fashioninflux.blogspot.co.uk/ It can be a difficult balance keeping up with the latest trends and also being dressed appropriately for work. Lydia says the pencil skirt is a trend which fits into the two camps very nicely this season. There are loads of options to choose from, but Lydia specifically pointed us in the direction of these two beauties. Mod skirt by Paper London Lydia says: "The 'Mod' skirt is feminine but smart & the patterned H&M number would look great with classic shirts that many of us have in our wardrobes already." Patterned skirt by H&M Thanks to the above fashion bloggers who helped us out of a tight spot! If you want to them to answer any work-wear conundrums, you can contact them via Twitter:
